An abandoned concrete silo looms over The Nations neighborhood, eerie and empty. The historic Nashville landmark was nearly torn down. Instead, it’s becoming the centerpiece of the community’s redevelopment. A 15-story painting is unfolding, revealing an elderly man who lived nearly all his life within sight of the silo.
‘The Unexpected’ organized by 64.6 Downtown and curated by JUSTKIDS has just wrapped up its second edition held in North West Arkansas, from September 1-12. The artist line-up included Alexis Diaz, Okuda San Miguel, Guido Van Helten, Jaz, Pastel, Faith 47, Bordalo II, Cyrcle and returning artist Maser.
Guido van Helten, an Australian muralist, whose large paintings can be seen in major cities in Australia (including Melbourne, Sydney, Port Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane) as well as in many European cities, visited Poland for the first time to create two works with Urban Forms Foundation.
