Art in Progress is a non-profit civil society for culture. It was founded on July 17, 2011 and operates in Patras, Greece. It focuses on the organization of visual, cultural, environmental and educational activities with the main aim of bringing the patriotic population together with contemporary Greek and international visual arts creation and shaping the appropriate conditions for the cultural and cultural upgrading of the city.
Through its national and international collaborations, its trust in civil society, the involvement and activation of active citizens, Art in Progress has managed to create the most important contemporary art exhibitions in Patras, to organize more than 150 innovative educational programs, seminars and structures of artistic education as it looks forward to the wider economic, environmental, social and cultural development of the place. An integral part of its activity are mainly initiatives aiming at the education of children, the participation of young people, all citizens without discrimination and with particular sensitivity working on the integration of socially vulnerable groups of the city.
For the first time in Greece, street art artists from around the world will participate in ArtWalk 3 to be held in May and June 2018 in Patras.
The Non Profit Organization, Art in Progress, will host some of the most important Greek and foreign street artists with international experience. The artists, leaving their staff “mark”, will give a new dynamic and content to the city, filling out extrovertness and color Patras.
The artists who participated in the OPEN CALL of the event surpassed every initial expectation, with applications reaching 50 and the participants representing both Greece and many foreign countries. Indicatively there were entries from the US, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, France, the Netherlands and Mexico.
