Christina Angelina mural for ArtWalk3 in Patras

The 3rd International Art Festival Patras | ArtWalk 3 aims to support gender equality, in a male-dominated area. Christina Angelina was the first female artist to paint an astonishing mural.

Christina Angelina was born and raised in the neighborhood of Venice, California, USA. With many stimuli from different types of arts, she chose to deal with painting. In her teenage years, she began selling her art to friends and passers-by, and then completed her studies at the Fine Arts School at UCLA University, and she got her degree in photography from the Art Center College of Design. Before embarking on her passionate work with Street Art, she was involved in drawing, painting and graphic design.

The artist focuses on large-scale frescoes because she wants to create out-of-bounds and boundaries. She does not follow the rules and that’s why she was named Starfighter (the star mistress). What depicts it in the frescoes is that the walls in the city are governed by unexpected, uncontrolled, unplanned, transformed into a huge canvas without spatial and geographical boundaries. The portraits, in its work, exude an intense capacity while talking to the urban landscape, where it works as a source of inspiration for the artist. It prefers to make the “abandoned” parts of the city “alive” having as a dominant tool in its work the spay.

She has collaborated with many world-renowned Street Art artists such as Fin DAC, Ease One, SEK, Hueman and Kevin Ledo. Nike, Nylon Magazine, Heineken and Microsoft have supported her work.

In 2012, she completed a series of drawings for Christian Louboutin at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills.
Beyond Los Angeles, she has created frescoes in Berlin, Miami, Reno, New York, Belfast and Sao Paulo.

The wall in Patras was made under the 3rd International Art Art Festival Patras | ArtWalk 3.
It can be seen on Paphos Street 1, Patras /  Greece
