StreetHeArt Open Call

The EU Delegation to the African Union proudly announces the art competition “StreetHeArt” – two continents, one beat.

A competition to visualise dialogue, open-mindedness, dignity, and mutual respect between Africa and Europe.

Four selected street artists, two from Europe and two from Africa, will stand a chance to paint graffiti artwork on a wall in Addis Ababa, diplomatic capital of Africa and seat of the African Union, in May 2021.

We are looking for street artists like you to unite Africa and Europe through the universal language of art.

In commemoration of Africa Day and Europe Day, four artists, two from each continent, will be invited to paint a wall in Addis Ababa in May 2021.

Engaging art as a medium, the artists will communicate their aspirations for peace, cooperation, and solidarity – reinforcing the deep bonds of mutual understanding and respect that bind the two continents, and its peoples, together.

All travel and accommodation costs are covered, and each selected artists will receive 3000€.
