Art in Progress announces, yet another year, an open call for street artists to be held as part of the 5th International Street Art Festival Patras | ArtWalk 5, which will take place in May and June 2020 in Patras.
Under the motto, “Change the City”, we would like to invite street artists who have reached the age of 18, residing in Greece or abroad, regardless of their nationality and having previous experience, to participate in the creation of large-scale murals in targeted locations and buildings of Patras.
More specifically, the interested artists have the opportunity to send 1 to 2 drafts for each of the different themes, while they are entitled to implement drafts in all themes.
Suggested topics:
1. a theme consistent with health
at the wall of the General Hospital of Patras (GHP). This wall belongs to the GHP’s main building (photos and further information on the wall, can be found in the next section).
1. a theme consistent with the 75th anniversary of the events in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
2. a theme consistent with the 70th anniversary of Albert Einstein’s death.
3. a free theme of your choice.
The artists can submit their applications, as well as drafts of their projects, from Sunday, 15th of December 2019 to
Saturday, 15th of February 2020 (23:59), via the site and the social media of Art in Progress or directly here.
The aim of the 5th International Street Art Festival Patras | ArtWalk 5 is the artistic intervention in the urban fabric of Patras, giving character and color to the city.
The results of the Open Call will be officially announced by the 29th of February, 2020.
You may consider a modest donation — however much you can afford, when it comes from the heart, it’s the kind of gesture that makes us warm with appreciation.
