We are seeking submissions for a mural and a graphic design at the American Medical Response (AMR) in DC. This project is open to DC-based artists and/or student artists.
This is a paid opportunity. Chosen artists will be responsible for project expenses using a portion of their stipend.
***AMR is a national and local provider of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), serving the DMV through the Capital Region. This specific project is meant to highlight and celebrate the contributions of their team members in the Washington D.C. area in which they are part of the 911 system. This project is being undertaken in light of the challenges that the team members and community have faced not only in the day to day of normal 911 operations but also the unique burden that everyone has been under during COVID.***
The entrance to their building has a large wall that would have a graphic design printed onto a mesh scrim and hung on the wall.
The Administrative Office in the same building has a wall in need of a hand-painted mural. AMR would like their staff to participate in the painting of this design.
If you are submitting designs for both, please submit 2 separate responses at go.gmu.edu/amrmural
AMR is interested in designs that represent DC, the diverse community they serve, and include a positive, encouraging message, as that is the first thing the AMR team sees on their way in and out each day!
You may consider a modest donation — however much you can afford, when it comes from the heart, it’s the kind of gesture that makes us warm with appreciation.
