The first version of the Contemporary Urban Art Festival in Barranquilla Hidden Walls; It is an event aimed at artists and the public that makes and appreciates the contemporary urban art of the city of Barranquilla and the Colombian Caribbean mainly. It is organized by the artistic collective Isla Bonita, which has been operating in the city since 2014.
The main components of the event are:
1) Intervention of 18 artists on walls of 6 meters wide by 2.5 high, where they will compete for a cash prize of $ 500,000 Colombian pesos.
2) The opening of an alternative space for trade and the consolidation of related brands in the event.
3) Continuous DJ presentations accompanied by Monster experiences such as break dance and skate ramps (to be confirmed) for visitors.
This event arises from the need to create spaces for the expression of urban artists and their encounter with an audience eager to appreciate this type of artistic and cultural manifestations. The above, taking into account the growth of the urban art scene, murals, graffiti and Street art. We seek to gather the largest number of artists and public from the Caribbean region.
In essence what the hidden walls mural fest 2019 intends is to offer a space in which the Barranquilla public can interact with urban art in a more organic and spontaneous way. In the same way urban artists find a platform where they can present their proposals. Everyone is in a comfortable environment.
The event will be held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February in the parking lot of the hotel Imperio Inn 74, located at 74 Street No. 43-43, the days have the following schedules: we start on Saturday at 9:00 am until 3 : 00 am at dawn and we resume on Sunday at 10 am until 6 pm where the award verdict will be given by the jury.
