The Mural is a retinal image, its matrix is located on a cliff on the island of Ithaca. During her last pilgrimage on Ulysse’s island, a fellow traveler gave Allegra this shot telling that resembled her work. She told him the image he found, was the profile portrait of the goddess Athena, born already adult from the head of her father, Zeus, and who guided Ulisse’s return home. So Allegra decided to realize the retinal-amulet-Athena’s mural as a sign of empathy with Greece, the land that carries inspiration, culture, and the most amazing natural light, which can only be found here, as a beacon to protect its Civilization-Ulysses, currently in terrible turmoil, enduring hard times.

The artist: Allegra is a a explorer of cultures, in constant motion searching for deep roots. Traveling between countries, from east to west, experiencing customs, looking for meeting grounds, observing the who, when and how they intermingle. Symbols like the sea,the female form and travel are recurring criterions within her early works.
Her most recent works are about the retinal image: what can you see when you close your eyes? She has been representing her vision through an abstract/organic improvisation. Old and brand new symbols are emerging from this research.
