WALL DIALOGUE is a wall painting project initiated by neurotitan from Berlin and ATEA from Mexico City.
On this edition the project brings together 9 artist from Europe and México for a wall painting jam in the independent art space ATEA.
Besides the wall painting, the project hosts streetart workshops with children from the neighbourhood alongside other activities.
WALL DIALOGUE is a public event that emerges from the platform “Nuestro Barrio”. A project funded by Goethe Institute and IFA discussing city development and promoting an exchange between the independent scene of Berlin and Mexico City. The first part of the exhibition series WALL DIALOGUE took part in Berlin in 2015, and featured amongst others the Berlin based artists Johannes Mundinger and BLO.
The second edition of the dialogue will be broadened with the artist couple Billy and Mernywernz from UK, Nelio from France, Pao Delfin, Said Dokins and La Piztola from Mexico. In a public event the guest artists will exchange their experiences about community based art projects with local artists. WALL DIALOGUE targets to feature international urban artists and bring their various forms of expression into an international dialogue and to create a physical space of exchange – this time in the popular neighborhood of La Merced. With regard to current processes of gentrification in the neighborhood the artists of WALL DIALOGUE alongside the platform of Nuestro Barrio will be searching for new perspectives in the realm of urban art and community necessities.

+ Live screen printing with “El día de la Impresion” ¡bring your own clothes to print!
+ Official closing with a round table of the artists, contributors and local actors. The discussion focuses the difficult relationship of urban art and gentrification processes and is searching for new perspectives in the realm of urban art and community necessities.
+ Music, food and drinks all day.
