Introducing IPAF 2021 the INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC ART FESTIVAL of CAPE TOWN, organised by Baz-Art, 20 local and international artists will be painting large murals in Salt River.

This 5th edition will bring the number of murals well above a 100.

The festival is a showcase of how public art can express community values, enhance our environment, transform a landscape, heighten our awareness, or question our assumptions. Placed in public sites, this art is there for everyone, a form of collective community expression.

Being in the throes of Covid-19, we need to think now, more than ever about how to ‘future-proof’ our communities through environmental, economic and social sustainability.

IPAF 2021 will showcase public art activations that focus on the idea of sustainability, through environmental awareness, creative sustainable solutions, economic enrichment through skills-building and sharing, and an even greater focus on community building.

Because of its convenient location, proximity to the CBD and heritage architecture, this area, previously a lower-middle class suburb, is now also attracting young professionals, workers and students of all backgrounds.
