Group exhibition ETEROTOPIA – LINGUAGGI ULTRA CONTEMPORANEI. Roma, Italy

September 07, 2015 to October 03, 2015

Ex Dogana San Lorenzo will house the project “Eterotropia – Linguaggi Ultra Contemporanei”. The artists involved: Borondo, Canemorto, Sbagliato, Edoardo Tresoldi and Jacopo Mandich will cross the gate of the Ex Dogana to merge their languages with the memory of this historical place in the capital, giving birth to “a different space”.

They will gravitate toward this unused area, toward this empty space which suddenly opens the door to a new meaning and to original relationships between people and places in the city. They will realise their works in the two areas of the Ex deposito merci estere (Former foreign goods warehouse) and the Ex zona sosta migranti (Former migrants reception area), suspended dimensions par excellence, apparently rigid devices which welcomed goods and people waiting to be released.
We imagined this space as a dimension of the possible, where the ultra contemporary languages convey what goes in and out and mark, as in a religious rite, a time of transition experienced both collectively and individually. An “indoor space”, occupied by the consciousness and the imaginary of the artists, absorbed by other worlds that become real, in front of our eyes.

Location.
