‘Don’t Ask Why’

May 05, 2017 to May 19, 2017

A new solo show by the lithuanian visual artist Jurgis Tarabilda. The Exhibition is personal insights about everyday details and situations of human life that go through unexpected transformations in the artworks

They are tilted to unusual, maybe even digressed direction compared to reality. Meanwhile, the viewer is involved into an endless game of meanings. For non-aesthetic objects or materials the artist assigns his made up aesthetic and combines what is funny and serious, real and even ludicrous. In this case, J. Tarabilda chooses to reflect the outside world of the individual and the environment where he exists and social changes take place.
“Narratives of my works are intuitive. I can speak about my works in my own way but this time it is not complete my, as an artist, story. In this case I provoke spectator to involve into an endless game of meanings in which my works becomes a reason for every person to create its own story relied on a personal experience. I choose to reflect the outside world of individual, the environment where he exists and social changes happen. It is my personal insights about everyday details and situations of human life that in my works go through unexpected transformations. They are tilted to unusal, maybe even digressed direction compared to reality. In subtle forms for non-aesthetic objects or materials I assign my own made up aesthetic and combine what is funny and serious, what is real and ludicrous.” Jurgis Tarabilda
