Artist and wave muralist Hilton Alves is inviting everyone to participate in the first annual Surf & Ocean International Art Show this summer. The event will take place from July 18th through the 22nd at the Hilton – Art “Box” Gallery, a new and creative concept of art gallery in Hawai`i, near Giovannis Shrimp Truck in Kahuku. The gallery was created in January of this year. Since then, Hilton has been in the developing phases of projects to have the community involved in this unique art venue, such as art lessons, beach clean ups, and more.
There are currently 50 local and international artists confirmed to participate. Each artist was invited to submit a piece, and to be a part of the beach clean ups, hiking session, surf session and live art exhibition. Hilton, known for his 101 Perfect Waves Mural Project and other community based art events, has been painting professionally since 2000 and has completed 27 out of 101 Perfect Wave murals all over the world, the U.S. and Hawai`i. “My vision is to blend multiple styles into one event and show the public that surf and ocean art is more than just a painting style, but includes a great family and lifestyle,” says Hilton.
The art show and live art exhibition, beach clean ups, hiking session, and surf session is open to the public to attend and meet the artists. The live art exhibition will include a mural for kids to paint and a food truck for artists and the public to paint. For more information, or to contact Hilton, visit www.theartofhilton.com
