Urban Forms Foundation was created in 2009. They focus on broadly defined city culture and on organizing, promoting and supporting independent artistic initiatives in public space. They want to change city space by raising its quality and aesthetics.
We are so excited to be media partners this year of this interesting festival.
Urban Forms Gallery is the main project of the foundation. It is a permanent street art exhibition in public space of Lodz. The exhibition, in major part, will be composed of large format pictures painted directly on the side elevations of tenement houses in the city centre of Lodz. They will be created by prominent representatives of large format painting from all around the world. In the upcoming years the project is going to expand with other street art objects like sculpture, installation, street jewellery etc.
The exhibition consists of 30 large format paintings, murals, created directly on the side wall elevations of buildings placed in the city centre. They form an artistic trail open to everyone: citizens and tourists alike.
The gallery is situated in the unique architecture of Lodz city centre with blank walls along main streets. It also refers to cultural heritage in the form of numerous and well preserved advertisement murals created between 1960 and 1980. Because of this, Lodz is becoming an important centre of street art in Poland and in the world.
