Parees, the mural intervention festival of Oviedo in North Spain, is a cultural, social, and artistic event bringing artists and citizens together to offer the city a new look through its walls.
From September 5 to 15, 2019, Oviedo will be full of color!
The event will take place from September 5th to 15th, starting with the work of French artist Matth Velvet in Olloniego. From then on, artists Mina Hamada (USA), Udatxo (Vask Country), Hedof & Joren Joshua (Netherlands) y Catalina Rodríguez Villazón (Asturias) will display their art in different locations of Oviedo, the capital of Asturias (north of Spain).
All the murals are the result of different contextualized participatory processes managed by cultural mediation team Raposu Roxu, who connects the artists to their work environment and to the neighbours, providing detail information about the themes of each artwork.
Parees artistic schedule is accompanied by several free activities for all family members, which happened to be quite successful in previous editions of the Festival, narrowing the distance between public art and citizens of every age.
