Yasja Ligtelijn

Born and raised on a houseboat on the edge of Amsterdam, 1991. When I was 13, I moved with my family to the south of the Netherlands, to the countryside and nature. I always lived in an imaginary world instead of reality. Even when I was a teenager, I had as goal to made my profession from my hobby, because I always drew and invented stories.
So I studied Artistic Education in Belgium and I slept during the week in a strict boarding school, based in an old monastery. After that period I went to the Art Academy in Maastricht (NL) and I graduated in 2016 as an illustrative designer.

Because I prefer to work on a scaffolding instead of having disagreements with various bosses, I decided to become an independent artist in 2017.
It started with designing of tattoos and now I paint whole walls.

Nowadays I live near Heerlen (NL) and have good contacts with other great graffiti artists, like James Jetlag (alias Fish) and Nash. Thanks to them I’ve been using spray cans as medium since 2018.
This year I’ll traveling to Norway and Iceland for making murals and also I’ll paint at Kings of Colors Festival in ‘s Hertogenbosch (NL).

In my free time I’m mountain biking or climbing.
